The APT Foundation is one of the oldest and most successful substance abuse programs in Connecticut. Founded in 1970, The APT Foundation is a private, non-profit organization providing treatment to individuals with substance use problems with an emphasis on traditionally underserved populations. Headquartered in New Haven, Connecticut, The APT Foundation offers treatment programs for adults that address the full range of substance abuse including opiates, cocaine, alcohol and multiple addictions. The APT Foundation is accredited by CARF...The Commission on Accreditation Rehabilitation Facilities. Specialized programs are offered for adolescents, addicted women with children, and those living with HIV/AIDS. Services include primary healthcare evaluation and treatment, outpatient counseling, outpatient detoxification, methadone maintenance, residential treatment and vocational services. Bilingual/Bicultural services are also available. RESEARCH Working in collaboration with the Connecticut Mental Health Center and the Yale School of Medicine, The APT Foundation has earned a reputation for excellence in addiction research as well as treatment. Through research programs supported by state and national agencies, such as the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), The APT Foundation is at the forefront of addiction recovery by designing rehabilitation programs based on superior research and methods.
